So why do coffees from different origins taste so distinct? It all begins with the soil – the foundation upon which coffee trees thrive.
In Ethiopia, beans from regions like Yirgacheffe boast floral and citrus notes, thanks to the high altitudes and rich volcanic soil.
In Honduras, coffees might surprise you with their bright and fruity undertones, reflecting the different microclimates of the area.
Venture further east to Indonesia, where the humid climate and volcanic soil yield coffees with earthy, spicy flavours and full-bodied profile that lingers on the palate.
In Nicaragua, with its fertile soil and balanced climate, produces beans prized for their sweetness and complexity, often featuring notes of chocolate, nuts, and stone fruits.
In Bolivia, the coffee is known for its delicate, bright acidity and sweet aromatic quality with fruity notes. The combination of climate, altitude and soil in Bolivia results in a cup of coffee that stands out in the crowd.
And Colombia, renowned for its smooth, well-balanced coffees celebrated for their lively acidity and delightful caramel sweetness. Here, the altitude and the unique processing methods play a pivotal role in shaping the final flavour profile.
You can’t go wrong with any of these delicious Single O’s. Let us know your 3 selected coffees in the notes at checkout and you’ll be savouring those sips in no time!
